SLRC’s progress due to collective efforts of TUs - Minister
The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) is receiving a great
impetus towards its development and progress due to the collective
efforts made by trade unions to improve their institution irrespective
of their political views and orientations, said Mass Media and
Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella when he met representatives of
trade unions attached to the Rupavahini Corporation at the ministry
yesterday.

He said he wished to thank all trade unions attached to the
corporation and its membership for working towards the single goal of
protecting and developing the institution without any petty political
motives.
He said as the national television network, the Rupavahini
Corporation is duty bound to give publicity to the government’s
development programmes and perform its social responsibilities.
He was happy that they all strived hard to transform Sri Lanka
Rupavahini Corporation into a profitable concern.
He said Rupavahini Corporation has taken steps to change over to
digital technology and stressed that it was the duty of all trade unions
to induce its membership towards more productivity to enable their
institution achieve its objectives.
If they improve the financial status of the institution, they would
be able to win their trade union rights and ensure job security.
Officers representing the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, JSS,
Executive Officers Union, Technical Officers Union and Producers’ Union
attended the meeting.
Ministry Secretary W B Ganegala and Rupavahini Corporation chairman
Mohan Samaranayake and other SLRC officials were also present. |
