‘Travel Asia Project’ launched

“The Travel Asia Project” designed by a group of professionals to
cater to a niche segment of law students around the world especially in
the United Kingdom has been formed.
This has an opportunity to explore and learn the functionality,
operation application and workability of the system of justice in Sri
Lanka.
Travel Asia Project Founder and Chairperson, is Senior
Attorney-at-Law, JPUM B.Com (Special) Godfrey Cooray. Directors are
Barrister - Attorney-at-Law Ruwantha Cooray, Dr. Dilan Dabare, head of
the Medical Internship Programme, Dr. Ruwanthi Cooray, MBBS Project
Coordinator Annette Cooray and Coordinating Secretary Attorney-at-Law
Menaka Cooray LL.b
The law students’ internship programme is unique in its character in
that it has not only afforded an opportunity for its students to gain an
insight into the principles of law but has endeavoured to bring about a
unique blend of practical aspects of law.

This project spearheaded by Senior Partner Godfrey Cooray has over
the last five years been able to earn reputation throughout the world as
one of the distinct travel projects for law students worldwide.
The project would also help to promote tourism in a big way.
Senior Attorney Godfrey Cooray in his formative years held a number
of positions in various government institutions and agencies especially
as the Chairman of National Aquatic Resources Research Development
Agency (NARA) pioneered introducing a multitude of innovative and
state-of-the-art projects such as the VIA satellite fishing and
navigation facility in the course of his tenure.
Social Service Minister Felix Perera was the Chief Guest at the
launching of the Travel Asia Project programme at the Gateway - Airport
Garden Hotel, Seeduwa recently.
“Senior Attorney Godfrey Cooray with the aid and assistance of Dr
Dilan Dabare and Dr Ruwanthi Cooray has worked tirelessly to design a
similar programme for the medical students’ body around the world,”
Minister Felix Perera said.
“Both inbound and outbound tourism is to receive a major boost with
the Travel Asia project,” the Minister said. |
