Sri Lankans among 16 nabbed trying to leave Malaysia illegally
Marine police arrested 16 people from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka
trying to leave Malaysia illegally.
Marine Police Region Two Deputy Commander Supt N. Kalai Chelvan said
the 16, including two women, were trying to head to Indonesia and
Australia via boats. He said the illegal immigrants were waiting for
their boats at 1 am on Friday when they were spotted by the marine
police at Sg Tengah beach, Kota Tinggi, some 90km from Johor Baru,
Malaysia.
