Mixed fortunes for DSSC

D.S. Senanayake College under-13 'C' Division cricket team won two matches on the first innings and suffered a first innings loss in their inter-schools under-13 'C' Division tournament matches played recently.

D.S. Senanayake Collage beat Mahanama College by 11 runs on the first innings and they also beat S. Thomas' College by 52 runs on the first innings.

Also they lost to Science College by 114 runs.

Versus S. Thomas' College

Kalana Wijegunawardena had an amazing spell of bowling, capturing 6 wickets for just 8 runs to dismiss S. Thomas's College for 98 runs. D.S. Senanayake College scored 150 for their first innings. Chirath Samarakoon scored 51 runs. B. Karaliyadda of S. Thomas' made a better effort and got seven wickets for 46 runs. In the second innings, S.Thomas' College were 12 for 4 at close.

S. Thomas' College: 98 (H. Fernando 19, Kalana Wijegunawardena 6 for 8, Pubudu Perera 3 for 19) and 12 for 4 wkts (Kalana Wijegunawardena 2 for 2, Chirath Samarakoon 2 for 8).

D.S. Senanayake College: 150 (Chirath Samarakoon 51, Ravisha Kumarage 31, B. Karaliyadda 7 for 46, N. Janith 3 for 49).

Versus Sasthrananda Vidyalaya

Batting first, Sasthrananda Vidyalaya scored 224 for 8. T. Lakshan gave his fullest support for DSSC, capturing three wickets.

Chirath Samarakoon of D.S.Senanayake College scored 46 runs while Zenol Jayasena also contributed with 26. S. Fonseka bagged three wickets for 21 while K.Anuruddika got two wickets for Sasthrananda.

Sasthrananda Vidyalaya: 224 for 8 wkts (I. Madushanka 43, S. Madushanka 42, T. Lukshan 3 for 41).

D.S. Senanayake College: 143 for 6 wkts (Chirath Samarakoon 46, Zenol Jayasena 26, S. Fonseka 3 for 21, K. Anuruddhika 2 for 50).

Versus Mahanama College

D.S. Senanayake College beat Mahanama College by 11 runs on the first innings.

Pasindu Adithya batted well for DSSC, adding 46, supported by Vihan Gunawardana who scored 21 runs. Kalana Wijegunawardana took three wickets for 18 runs to dismiss Mahanama team for 147.Gevindu did his part for Mahanama by scoring 37. getting 37 runs while Ravidu scored 23. Hasa Ravindika got four wickets for 38.

D.S. Senanayake College: 158 (Pasindu Adiththaya 46, Vihan Gunawadena 21, Hasa Ravindika 4 for 38, P. Shanuka 2 for 16).

Mahanama College: 147 (Gevindu 37, Ravindu 23, Kalana Wijegunawardena 3 for 18, Chirath Samarakoone 2 for 21, K. Liyanage 2 for 33, Ravisha Kumarage 2 for 36).

Versus Prince of Wales

D.S. Senanayake College drew with Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa.

T Lukshan bagged 4 for 32 to help dismiss Prince of wales for 182. Zenol Jayasena took 3 for 24 C. Sandaruwan and S.Fernando scored 39 and 31 respectively.

D.S.Senanayake College were 152 /8. Chirath Samarakoon proved a his fine form by scoring 69. Lahiru Wijeratne also gave his contribution by scoring 27 while Ravisha Kumarage scored 21 runs.

Prince of Wales: 182 (C. Sadharuwan 39, S. Fernando 31, A. Chathuranga 30 not out, T. Lukshan 4 for 32, Zenol Jayasena 3 for 24).

Science College beat D.S. Senanayake College on the first innings by 114 runs.
