Christmas with happiness and joy - Culture and Arts Minister

Culture and Arts Minister T B Ekanayake in a Christmas message said the Sri Lankan people living in a heterogenous society were making preparations to celebrate Christmas with happiness and joy.

The dawn of Christmas which is a national cultural festival, spreading Carols of peace is an occasion of Gods blessings for the public and society. Christmas which commemorated the birth of Christ is valuable not only for Christians but the entire society, because it brings a global message which enhanced peace, unity and brotherhood.

We believe that the values taught by it is invaluable for the existence of mankind.

That is why it is most fruitful for all Sri Lankans to join hands with Christians to celebrate this event.

While extending my greetings to the Christians and their assemblies who are celebrating a meaningful Christmas I sincerely hope and wish that our society gets enriched by love and peace.
