The Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry is to hold
discussions with the Indian government over the arrest of Sri Lankan
fishermen by Indian Coast Guards, said Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
Development Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne. An Indian delegation will
arrive in Sri Lanka in January to participate in these discussions.
The group will comprise representatives of the Indian Fisheries
Ministry, Defence Ministry, External Affairs Ministry and Security Heads
in Thamilnadu, Andra Pradesh and Andaman Islands, he said.
The minister was addressing a press briefing at the Information
Department recently to make media personnel aware of plans of the
National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA). |
