Selacine doubles revenue, makes Rs 17 m profit

The revenue at the Selacine Television Institute has more than doubled, from Rs 149 million to over Rs 350 million in 2010 and 2011.

The vision of the company is to double the revenue in two years and meet total market needs in five years.

The company has also made a net profit of Rs 17 million.

Selacine Television Institute Chairman Pradeep Edirisinghe told Daily News Business that Selacine is the only government institute which is authorized to conduct government media advertising including scheduling and other outdoor advertising.

According to a Cabinet Paper issued in 2008, all government institutes including provincial and local have to do all their advertising campaigns through the Selacine Television Institute.

Over 20 percent of the government institutes has already been contracted by Selacine and their intention is to cater to all government institutes within four years.

“Today over 60 are employed at Selacine Television Institute and action is taken to increase the number of employees during next few years,” he added.

Selacine is 26 years old and is offers an energetic, creative and innovative service for all clients from both the government and private sectors.

Selacine is becoming an institution that combines the creative skills of a design studio, the marketing server of advertising, the business sense and marketing expertise of a communication firm and the technical capabilities of a cutting edge multimedia, video production and internet development firm.
