CD with songs of public employees

‘Malsara Sihina’ CD of novel songs from talented vocal artist employees in the Road Development Authority will be launched on December 23 at 10.30 am in Sethsiripaya Battaramulla with the participation of officers from Road Development Authority and Ministry of Ports and Highways with the patronage of Nirmala Kotalawala Deputy Minister of Ports and Highways.

Songs in the CD are by Gunapala Senanayaka, Gamini Herath, Nirosha Dias, M S Wimal, Malaka Wijesingha and Jagath Dhammika. Lyrics by George Robson de Silva, Ramya Sriya Pathirana, Thanuja Sooriya Bandara, Jayalath Balasooriya and Gunapala Senanayaka.

Music by Popular Music Group: ‘Super Rhythms’

Music creations by Gamini Pathirana Music Director and journalist. This programme is organized by ‘Kala Sangamaya’ of the Road Development Authority which is known as artists association in the Sethsiripaya Office complex.

Most of the occasions the associations receives generous assistance from R W R Pemasiri Secretary of the Ministry and A A Ariyaratna Director Administration of the RDA.


Sindhu Kirilli at Lumbini

Buddhika Damayantha’s latest stage play Sindhu Kirilli will go on boards Lumbini theatre on December 30 at 6.30 pm.

The story of the play is based on a South African stage drama. The script is penned by Sunil Chandrasiri and revolves around a young girl who dreams of becoming a vocalist. Chandrasoma Binduhewa, Therani Peiries and Buddhika Damayantha comprise the cast. Nadeeka Guruge provides music. Prem Jayantha Kapuge is the make up artist. Kapila Kithsiri handles the lightening. Ayesha Dissanayake is the stage manager and choreographer. Upul C Dayawansha is the photographer. Pramod Wimalasiri is the media coordinator.

Buddhika is the director of presidential award winning creations such as Adiyapathiyage Marana Manchakaya, Padadaya, Palingu Rana, Davasa Thama Gevun Ne, Bansi Marila Ne, Apey Panthi Kamaraya, Rakawala, Mister Harold and Parana Ayage Kathava.


Book launch

The latest edition of Jayakody Seneviratne's popular Sinhala novel Podi Hamudurovo was relaunched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Colombo 10 on December 20 at 10 am. Podi Hamudurovo is a Dayawansa Jayakody publication.
