Accolades for Sports Hits

His young enthusiastic voice attracts any sports lover who watches
‘Sports Hits’ on Sawrnavahini. He is quite capable that his voice
possesses the desired punch of a TV presenter. Saranga Patirana is well
known among the sports lovers who watch Sports Hits regularly.

Pathirana's career is really successful that he marked his best
achievement recently. At the Sumathi awards, the best sports programme
of the year was Sports Hits directed and presented by Pathirana. It is a
great achievement which portraits his talents as a presenter as well as
a director.
It was about the Sri Lankan cricket captain Tilekaratne Dilshan and
his family which was shot at Captain's residence. Importantly it was
Dilshan's first media interview after becoming the captain of the Sri
Lanka Cricket Team.

Pathirana was previously a very sporty character highly involved in
sports. The young Anandian started his career as an athlete who did 100
and 200 metres.
He was in the national pool. He wanted to become a national level
athlete and even obtained a scholarship to Cuba. But his parents did not
want him to go to Cuba and finally he gave up the idea of going there.
But still his desire to do something related to sports was rooted in his
mind. Finally he joined Swarnavahini where he has undergone a lot of
difficulties as a trainee. But he was really good at grasping new things
and soon he became a capable character who learnt to do anything. He
started as a trainee and became an Assistant Producer, then a Producer
and then the Sports Editor and finally a presenter. He always believes
in his working capacity.
He possesses the perfect voice and the personality of a good
presenter. So he got the chance to do a new sports programme named
Sports Hits and even he presents Live @ 8.
The skillful youth is from Homagama who lives with his parents and
his sister. He wants to give his gratitude to his loving parents for
being his strength to make him what he is today and also he wants to
give special thanks to specific people who always give their helping
hand to make him a better profession: Upendra Herath, Manjula Basnayake,
Sanjaya Dissanayake, Aminda Weerakoon, Amila Praboda, Kavindu Fernando
and all the members of Swarnavahini. |
