Four from same family hacked to death

Land dispute cause for quadruple murder:

Four persons from the same family were hacked to death on Saturday night in Katiyawa area, Eppawala, Police said. The victims are two middle aged women, a young woman and a young man.

They are Seetha Hemalatha, 55, Malani Hemalatha, 49, Niluka Chandani Pathirana, 23 and Madhusanka Perera, 23.

The four bodies bore cut injuries, Police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.

According to villagers a land dispute was the cause of the quadruple murder. The suspect later surrendered to Police.
