English Premier League:
The Cottagers and Wolves
SAMAHA ISMATH ALI
The Craven Cottage Boys are possessive of many football tricks up
their sleeve. Fulham poses a definite threat at their games and their
opponents have reason to fear the powerful side.
They are a strong side with a boost of adrenaline confidence, even
though they have not had such a smooth journey so far in this English
Premier League kickoff. Fulham Football Club was established in 1879,
and started as a Sunday School. Though their beginnings were quiet, they
built themselves a stadium to prove themselves further.
The club's Stadium as well as Academy is situated on the banks of the
River Thames and this is one of the most popular visiting sites in
London. They have produced many British Greats including Johnny Haynes,
George Cohen, Bobby Robson, Rodney Marsh and Alan Mullery. They have
been home to these famous footballers, who have created names for
themselves in the history of English Football.
The team's Manager is Martin Jol. The Dutchman has played several
games in his career and has been amongst some of the greatest ever
clubs.
The Captain of the side is Danny Murphy. The Englishman is a
midfielder at Craven Cottage and has also been a part of Liverpool and
Charlton Athletic.
The player has also formed England's first squad and has been in
Liverpool since 197. However, he did not succeed in entering the first
team in that year. He however, joined the side in all their games these
past few years and has been one of the best in the side. He has also
been one among the Spurs-Tottenham Hotspur.
Murphy is indeed amazing-he has worked really hard to achieve the
'FOOTBALL' attention, as it is widely known, and is one of Fulham's best
players now. Among The Whites, two players stand out from the rest of
the crowd.
The first and one of the most recognized in the world of football is
Bobby Zamora. The former West Ham United Star is one of the members of
England's first team.
He was in Tottenham Hotspur but had an unfortunate season with them.
He was then signed up by West Ham United, and helped them in their
promotion to the Main Division of the English Premier League.
The other player who is worthy of mention is none other than Clint
Dempsey. The American National Star was brought into Fulham's books in
2007 and has been their up and coming star since then.
The player has been among various football clubs in his career, and
the most outstanding club he has belonged to is New English Revolution.
Dempsey is among the best players in the English Premier League and is
one of the most sought-after players now. Their performance this season
has not been so satisfactory as the usually alive team has dropped down
to being 13th on the League Table. They will have to increase their
playing performance if they want to make it to the top, and this is one
tough achievement, if the team really wants to prove themselves. This
season has turned the team the other way around, but Fulham are
determined to show their real playing execution.
The Wolves
The Molineaux Stadium is decorated with thousands of Black and Orange
shirt-clad people every weekend. Wolverhampton Wanderers are most
commonly known as the Wolves, as it is not only an abbreviation of their
full name, but also a compliment to their team on the basis of playing
real football. The Wolves were founded back in 1877 at St.Luke's, and
are one of England's oldest clubs who maintain a rich history of
professional football. They were promoted to the English Premier League
with flying colours, and they are also the proud winners of many
trophies from the past. The Manager of the side is Mick McCarthy.
The Irishman is also the former Manager of Premier League team
Sunderland, and has worked with many other teams such as Millwall and
the Republic of Ireland National football Team.
McCarthy's playing career includes spells of playing with Manchester
City, Millwall, Barnsley, Celtic, Lyon, and the Republic of Ireland.
The side is truly gifted for having a Manager who has plenty of
experience and is the most reliable mentor for the club. The Wolves were
close to relegation in the 2010-11 season, but scraped out of bitter
disappointment by a few points. The side wants to make sure that they do
not go through the long procedure of torture that walks hand-in-hand
with relegation.
They walked out of the extreme sorrow that engulfs the bottom three
teams of the table, and the entire Premier League has seen a new side to
the slowly-climbing team. The best among the Wolves could be jotted down
as Matthew Jarvis. The Winger was signed up by current team
Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2007, after a successful spell at Gilingham.
The English professional footballer has made it among the top in the
list of England's first team as well as 'The best players of England'
drawn up list.
This season has proven to be profitable for the Wolves, but the side
has to increase their performance levels if they want to reach their
targets. They are blessed with the outward talent they so precisely
hold, and their inward confidence which will never deteriorate. From now
onwards, the club has resolved to start their serious games for the long
run, and they will certainly demonstrate their capabilities. |
