Team Exide geared up for the CNR

Team Exide will be a force to be reckoned with at today's Colombo Night Races (CNR). Team Exide will feature some of the outstanding drivers in the country's racing scene, including Mahen Madugalle, Chaminda Weerasooriya and Praveen Madugalle. Sri Lanka's international racing star Dilantha Malagamuwa also representing the Exide Team while their newest addition Aravinda Premadasa is also expected to do the team proud.

Mahen Madugalle

Mahen Madugalle started racing in the year 1985 and won the National Championship in SLA up to 1050 CC in 2009. His recent performances are, 1st place in Eliyakanda Hill Climb 2009, 1st place in Mahagastota Hill Climb 2009, 2nd place in Mirigama Circuit Meet 2009, 1st place in Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2010, 1st place in Mirigama Circuit Meet 2010, 2nd place in Gravel Circuit meet of Foxhill Supercross 2010, 1st place in Pannala Circuit Meet 2011, 2nd place in Mahagastota Hill Climb2011, 2nd place in Radella Hill Climb 2011, won the Gravel Circuit meet of Foxhill Supercross 2011, won the Kandy Road Race 2011

Dilantha Malagamuwa

Sri Lanka's only driver who competes in the Asian GT3 and GT4 class races, Malagamuwa is one of the most successful drivers in the Asian Grand Prix. He has done 19 races for this year with 15 podium finishes, 7 wins and 6 second places.

Some of the races are, Malaysian GT champion 2011 - Podium finish, Malaysian GT championship - podium finish, 58th MACAU grand PRIX – podium finish

Chaminda Weerasooriya

Chaminda Weerasooriya started racing in the year 2003 from the racing track of Pannala and won the runner up trophy under 1500CC in the Novices’ event.

So far he has won around 70 awards. He has been placed first in many of the 1300CC events that he participated over the past years.

Some of his best performances: Won the Speed Championship for the Ford Lazer /Mazda 1500CC event organized by the Asian Motor Racing Club in 2005 and 2006, national champion in Ford Lazer/Mazda 1500CC in 2010, adjudged best driver at the SLARDAR championship in 2010, 1st place under Ford Lazer/Mazda 1500CC in Gunners Supercross and Pannala Circuit Meet 2011, 2nd place under Ford Lazer/Mazda 1500CC Katukurunda Circuit Meet 2011, 2nd place Ford Lazer/Mazda 1500CC in Foxhill Super Cross 2011, 2nd place under Ford Lazer/Mazda 1500CC in Pangolla Supercross 2011

Praveen Madugalle

Praveen Madugalla started racing in the year 2009 following the path of his father and participated many races with several championships.

His best performances are, 3rd place in Eliyakande Hill Climb 2009, 3rd place in Eliyakande Hill Climb 2010, 2nd place under SL-A modified 1050CC in Mihirigama Circuit Meet 2010, 2nd place under SL-A modified 1275CC in Mihirigama Circuit Meet 2010, Fastest timing of the day, won the championship under Formula McLaren’s 1300CC in Pannala AMRC 2010, 1st place under SL-A modified 1050CC in Pannala Circuit Meet 2011, Fastest timing of the day, won the championship under Formula McLaren’s 1300CC in Pannala AMRC 2011, won the 1st place in both Round 2 and 3 in Formula McLaren’s championship - 2011

Aravinda Premadasa

The newest addition to the Exide team, Premadasa started motor racing when he was seven years he held the crown for the SLGT class for many years. He was the SLADAR champion in four occasions and was the champion driver at Fox hill super cross in 10 occasions and Gajaba super cross in 7 occasions.
