Common Z-Score finalized

Higher Education Minister S B Dissanayake said yesterday that all measures have been taken to release the GCE (A/L) examination results.

He made this observation in Parliament in response to a question raised by UPFA Parliamentarian Ranjith de Zoysa.

The minister stated that a common Z-Score rate has been finalized for both participants at the examination under the new and old syllabuses. The Higher Education Minister also stated that a group of statistics experts consisting of professors have been assigned to finalize the matter with the Z-Score.

He also stated that finalizing a common Z-Score rate was a complex issue and the group of experts were striving to minimize the probable advantage or disadvantage to a rate lesser than 0.1 percent which will incur on results of the students also sat for the exam on either of syllabus.
