Results still being finalized - Examinations Dept

The Examinations Department yesterday said that the results of the G.C.E. Advanced Level examinations are still being finalized by the officials.

According to a senior official of the Department, the department will need a few more days to finalize the results and it won’t be able to release the results by next Monday.

However, Examinations Commissioner General Anura Edirisinghe earlier said results would be issued in the first week of December.

The Examinations Commissioner earlier assured that the result would probably be issued prior to the commencement of the school vacation.

For the first time in the history of Advanced Level examinations, the largest number of candidates sat the examination this year.

Accordingly, 294,800 candidates faced the examination, which commenced on August 8 at 2,400 examination centres throughout the country.
