Premier Limited Over Tournament Tier-A:

NCC, SSC in final

Two fine knocks by D.H. Dahanayaka (60) and Jehan Mubarak (60) and an equal contribution by their bowling attack secured NCC a place in the Premier Limited Over Tournament Tier A final when they beat Colts Cricket Club by 4 wickets on D/L method in the first semi-final played at Moors Sports Club grounds yesterday.

Having opted to bat first, NCC made a decent 263 for 9 in 50 overs. After a rain interruption, Colts CC were given a target of 225 in 45 overs where they managed to score five runs less at the completion of the innings, losing six wickets. NCC 263 for 9 in 50 overs (D.H. Dahanayaka 60, J. Mubarak 60, F. Maharoof 39, N. Kulasekara 2 for 37, G. Alvitigala 2 for 47, S. Weerakoon 2 for 45 )

Colts CC 220 for 6 in 45 overs (J. Perera 65, C. M. Peris 35 not out, Boralessa 3 for 38 )

SSC beat Chilaw Marians:

A five wicket haul by M Senanayaka and a partnership of 128 runs between Thilina Kandammby (66) and Kaushal Lokuarachchi (59 no) helped SSC to overcome Chilaw Marians CC by 6 wickets in the second semi-final played at NCC ground yesterday.

SSC, after winning the toss elected to field, and seemed right on track with Senanayake taking early wickets at regular intervals while Dhammika Prasad bagged another three wickets on the other end. Eventually SSC restricted Chilaw Marians to 160 all out in 47.2 overs.

At the early stages SSC were struggling with 23 for 3 but the 128 run fourth wicket partnership between Thilina Kandammby and Kaushal Lokuarachchi kept the scorers busy and SSC reached the target with 41 balls to spare, losing only four wickets.

NCC and SSC will meet in the final which will be played at P. Sara Stadium on December 17.
