The annual convocation of the Defence
Services Command and Staff College in Batalanda
was held under the patronage of Prime Minister D.M.
Jayaratne at the Institute premises
yesterday. Here the Prime Minister confers a degree on an
officer from a foreign country
who had completed his training programme. Defence Secretary
Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief
Marshal Roshan Gunatilleke and Commanders of the three
forces and other officials were also present. A batch of 83
local and foreign officers received degrees at this
