Shoplifting couple nabbed in Wadduwa

Panadura Magistrate R.S.A. Dissanayake remanded a young couple who were allegedly engaged in shoplifting in the Wadduwa area.

The Wadduwa Police arrested the couple and recovered two bags of cloths and other items kept inside a three-wheeler they travelled in.


Lanka 21st in trooping the UN

Sri Lanka is currently ranked as the 21st largest contributor of troops and Police to United Nations peacekeeping operations in several areas of the world, according to the External Affairs Ministry.

Nearly 1,190 personnel are deployed in many United Nations peacekeeping missions, the Annual Performance Report of the Ministry tabled in Parliament yesterday said.
