Govt focuses on problems of the public - Minister

The government tries to solve problems of the public under the
leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, said Construction,
Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal
Weerawansa at the opening ceremony of the construction of Staff Quarters
for Kolonnawa Government Factory workers.
The staff quarters scheme of 100 houses will be constructed at a cost
of Rs 250 million. Construction will be carried out by the Urban
Development Authority under the guidance of Defence and Urban
Development Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
The minister said that many housing, infrastructure and other
development activities are going on in the country under the Mahinda
Chinthana Idiri Dekma. The government succeeded in facing problems which
affected many countries in the world. Unemployment and inflation have
reduced in Sri Lanka. Foreign investments has increased due to the
sovereignty and political stability of the country.

Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Western Provincial Councillors
Renuka Perera, Ashoka Lankathilake and Government Factory Chief Engineer
Priyantha Fernando also participated.
