Cantaloupe announces expansion plans

Cantaloupe announced its expansion plans for the next upcoming year which outlines their strategy for their retail, hospitality, design and jewelry divisions. Cantaloupe has been in existence for a few years now and has become a prominent player in numerous fields via its creations, investments and projects, such as Amuseum, Cantaloupe Aqua, Cantaloupe Jewels and more products.

“After two years, Cantaloupe’s business model has proven to be a success, which has subsequently led the stakeholders to set in motion the grand expansion plan of Cantaloupe and Co”, says Founder and Managing Director, Dmitri Jayasuriya.

The Cantaloupe business model is based on decentralization, which has enabled the group to expand into four independent divisions. The Cantaloupe business portfolio now consists of Cantaloupe Villas, Cantaloupe Jewels, Cantaloupe Boutique and Exotic Melon (which specializes in Graphic and Spatial Design). All four divisions are currently preparing for large-scale expansion, which has been initiated as Cantaloupe Boutique’s Phase II development project.

Cantaloupe Boutique is not simply a one off space that is aesthetically pleasing; it brings together like minded brands and retailers that each, in someway or another, embody the spirit, beauty and lifestyle of Cantaloupe. Located at one of Colombo’s most prestigious and picturesque colonial landmark spaces, The Galle Face Court, Cantaloupe Boutique is a stylish establishment that has been modeled according to a department store concept. The long-term plan for the Boutique is to develop it into a lifestyle umbrella outlet where people can come shop, eat, drink and socialize. Cantaloupe also eventually hopes to expand this concept to multiple locations through out the city.

Cantaloupe Aqua is the first property under the Cantaloupe Villa portfolio. Defined, as an art deco, fashion lifestyle villa, Cantaloupe Aqua has created a new niche in the market. It is an ocean front property with a private beach that spans a few kilometers in both directions. Located in Talpe, Unawatuna, C.Aqua is utilized as a platform for Cantaloupe to launch their beach club concept.

Cantaloupe Villas is in the process of finalizing an elaborate expansion plan, which will be launched within the next two months. The plan will outline the opening of three new beachfront properties, which will be marketed as Lifestyle Hotels and Beach Clubs. EM as the name implies is the Design arm of Cantaloupe & CO. EM’s design portfolio encompasses Spatial Design (Amuseum Phase I and II, AQUA, Cantaloupe Boutique, Heladiv Tea Club).

Cantaloupe Jewels as the name implies is the jewelry division of Cantaloupe. Product differentiation is achieved by applying Cantaloupe’s core values to fresh ideas. The Cantaloupe Jewels portfolio now boasts numerous designers and collections and has recently expanded its outlet in Cantaloupe Boutique. Expect to see Cantaloupe Jewels retailing at several high-end stores within the next few months.
