Tangerine Travels will open Colombo’s first bed and breakfast hotel
on Ramakrishna Road, Welawatta next November bringing a European touch
to the city life of Colombo.
Tangerine Tours, Managing Director Gerard Ondaatje told ‘Daily News
Business’ that they have invested Rs. 350 million for this property. The
eight-storied ‘Fair View Hotel’ would offer 45 economy rooms.
“We will prize this at US $ 70 per double with breakfast,” he said.
He said that with Colombo being converted to a busy capital they
would have a lot of business. “We had to play with the land available
and could not construct a bigger hotel,” he said.
With the addition of Fair View, the Tangerine product portfolio would
now have a total of over 550 rooms in Nuwara Eliya, (Grand Hotel),
Kalutara (Tangerine and Royal Palms), Trincomalee (Nilaweli Beach Hotel)
and Wellawatta. |
