Super luxury buses on Southern Expressway

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will deploy two super luxury buses on the Southern Expressway, which will be opened tomorrow.

The super luxury bus service will commence from Galle at 6 am and 7 am daily and will reach Makumbura in Kottawa. The total distance will be 107.9 kilometres and will charge Rs. 380 per person.

The buses will return to Galle after 30 minutes. Four turns will be operated from Galle to Kottawa per day, SLTB Chairman M.D. Bandusena said. The number of such buses will be increased according to the needs of passengers.

As drivers need to be well-trained to use the Southern expressway, the SLTB has taken measures to train drivers.

The charges for passengers who get in half way will differ according to their destination. The imported buses comprise 42 seats and will provide TV facilities as well. Seat belts are mandatory for all passengers, he said.
