Jeep goes down precipice killing one

A 23-year-old man died and the driver of the jeep he was traveling in, was injured when their jeep hurtled down a 15-foot precipice on the Warakapola-Mirigama road in the Arangala Kanda area of Mirigama yesterday.

Laksman Pradeep Dharmasiri, 23, died after being admitted to Warakapola Hospital, Police said. The driver is currently receiving treatment at the Mirigama Hospital.

The jeep went down the precipice after skidding off the road at around 1.30 pm yesterday, Police said.
