Mercantile hold Wennappuwa to a draw

The 39th Junior National Hockey Tournament commenced at Asgiriya cricket stadium yesterday and 12 teams participated. The most interesting match was between Mercantile and Wennappuwa which ended in a one-all draw.

Following are the results: Colombo HA beat Sri Lanka Schools (Maroons) by 5 goals to nil. Mercantile team beat Kandy HA (4-3). Matale HA beat Kalutara (11-1). Sri Lanka Schools (Gold) beat Kegalle HA (11-0). Sri Lanka Schools (Maroons) beat Uva HA (4-1). Mercantile HA drew with Wennappuwa (one-all). Gampaha HA beat Kegalle HA (2-1). Defence Services beat Kalutara (10-2).
