Woman held for burying infant's body

Aralaganwila Police acting on a tip-off, arrested a 32-year-old woman resident in Yakkure, Nuwaragala for secretly burying the body of her new born infant on Monday evening.

Following interrogation, the suspect had said she buried the body of the infant boy born inside the house, because she believed it to be a still birth. A magisterial inquiry was due to be held after examining the body. Police investigations are continuing.
