Racial amity through sports

Over 80 children from Chilaw, Wennappuwa and Nattandiya in the Puttalam District took part in the sports festival held at the Peace Village on November 5 and 6, 2011.

The children belonging to the three communities- Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims took part in the two day event which was held with the intention of bringing about racial amity through sports.

They took part in football, swimming and table tennis which helped to foster friendship and understanding between the children. They were also trained by professional coaches from Colombo.

It was organized by the AGSEP in collaboration with the teachers of the schools in the three towns.
