Alleged looters netted

Three looters including the ring leader of a gang of five, were
apprehended by Dambulla Police with stolen gold necklaces. Other two
suspects fled away. Police investigations revealed they had snatched
four gold necklaces from women in the Dambulla town area during last two
months. Looters were using motorcycles for robberies.

Wewa Rest House in Anuradhapura on November 3 from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Thief released on bail

A man who had stolen iron sheets from a shop at Ingiriya town, was
released by Horana Magistrate Mahinda Ranasinghe on Rs 5,000 bail
(security deposit) and Rs 50,000 on two personal bonds.
The Magistrate postponed the case for January 11, 2012.
The suspect, M Yoganadan is a resident of Ingiriya Watta area.
The suspect was arrested by the Ingiriya police.
Betting centre robbed
A four member armed gang who stormed into a private betting centre at
old Tangalle Road, Matara threatened the employees and escaped with Rs
120,000 in cash, Matara Police said.
Five nabbed with Ganja

The Matara Police Anti-Vice Squad nabbed five men who had 11,010 mgs
of ganja in their possession at Mirissa, Matara and Kamburugamuwa. The
suspects were to be produced before the Matara Magistrate's court.
