Two students fight over love affair

Two school boys, who had allegedly assaulted another with clubs, had been released on personal bail of Rs 50,000 each with two sureties by Horana Magistrate Mahinda Ranasinghe.

The suspect students were I M Gunathilaka and D L H Chandimal, residents of Paragasthota area.

The Magistrate also ordered the suspect students to observe sil every Poya day at the temple in their area and produce a letter to prove it to the Bandaragama police from the Chief Incumbent of the temple.

The suspects are studying at a popular school in Panadura town. Both are in Grade 11.

The injured student is studying at a school in Bandaragama area, also is in Grade 11 and is a resident of Bandaragama in the Yatiyana area.

Police told court that the injured student was undergoing treatment at the Bandaragama Base Hospital, adding that the incident had occurred owing to a love affair.
