Omarkada, Kambiliwewa and Konwewa areas in Anuradhapura district on

minister said politicians fanning separatism were trying various means
to exert pressure on Sri Lanka through foreign channels but President
Mahinda Rajapaksa and the government would never kneel down to such
undue pressures.
Thanking people of the terrorist threatened villages for not
abandoning their areas during the height of the LTTE threat, Minister
Weerawansa said on the President's initiative the 'Jana Sevana' one
million houses project started by his ministry has focused special
attention towards homeless families in these former threatened villages
as a mark of gratitude towards their patriotism.

on the instructions of the President the government has launched several
programmes to develop former threatened villages and provide all
facilities needed by the residents.
