Two drug pedlars remanded

Borella Police yesterday produced two suspects, including a three-wheeler driver, before the Maligakanda Magistrate, who are alleged to have attempted to take hard drugs to the Welikada Prison. On an application by the Borella Police, the magistrate remanded the two suspects till November 14 pending the completion of the ongoing investigations.

According to the Borella Police the suspects had attempted to take eight grams and 440 milligrams of heroin to a prisoner who is serving a jail term at the Welikada Prisons.

The magistrate directed the Borella Police to submit a comprehensive report on the next date.
