One dead, six injured in grenade attack

One person died in a hand grenade attack following a clash between two rival groups near the Delduwa School Wadduwa around 10.45 pm on Monday.

The deceased was identified as D.W. Suranga Priyadarshana (28) of Delduwa Wadduwa. The body is lying at the Gonaduwa Hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy. Six others injured in the clash are receiving treatment at the Panadura, Gonaduwa and Nagoda hospitals. Wadduwa Police is investigating.
