Best environment friendly school contest on Nov 5

The Green Forest Association (GFA) has organized the 'Best Environment Friendly School of the Year - 2011' all island inter-school competition for the fourth consecutive year.

GFA executive director Harindra Serasinghe said that the awards ceremony will be held at the Maharagama Youth Centre on November 5 at 9am with the participation of ministers, MPs, professional environmentalists and artists.

Schools score marks in the competition for their environmental friendly activities such as solid waste management, waste separation, collection and recycling, home gardening and other agricultural activities, environmental education and awareness programmes, wall painting and quotes, herbal or fruit gardening.
