Rain foils Vidyartha

Rain, bad light and other reasons thwarted Vidyartha College of a possible outright win in their inter-school cricket match against Kingswood College which ended in a draw at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday. A brilliant spell of off spin bowling by Tilina Rupasena who took 7 for 55 off 19 overs saw the Kingswoodians crumble for 120.

Trailing behind by 133 runs, the Kingswoodians were asked to follow on and were 8 for no loss when a deluge washed off play.

Vidyartha College 253 for 8 declared.

Kingswood College 120 all out in 38.5 over (R Wijeratne 32, Nisitha Weerakoon 29, S Walisundera 16, Tharindu Ranaweera 2 for 43, Tillina Rupasena 7 for 55) and 8 for no loss in 2 overs.
