Azwer voices opposition to Gaddafi killing
“The dark cloud of Western tyranny spreading across the Third World
countries is evident in the martyrdom of Libyan Leader Col. Muammar
Gaddafi.
“It is time that the conscience of the world is rekindled to arrest
this Zionist-imperialist conspiracy”, said Parliamentarian A H M Azwer
who was the Chief Guest at a book launch held at Maleeha Memorial Hall,
Jeelan Maha Vidyalaya, Panadura presided by Jeelan Navodaya Central
College Principal A R M Jiffrey.
Moulavi Fouz Mohamed (Sharqi) of Kattankudy had written this book
titled, From Egypt to Sri Lanka. The first copy of the book was
purchased by Alhaj A J Ahamed Fuard.
Azwer said the brutal killing of Gaddafi should be condemned by all
peace loving people and people who respect the sovereignty and
independence of nations.
“Gaddafi gave leadership to Arabian and African countries and stood
against all forms of imperialism and neo-colonism of the western world.
“The process of elimination of world Muslim leaders is intensified,”
he said adding “it is baffling to see that the West wants our country to
stand trial against war crimes but most aghastly hails the killing of
Gaddafi after he was captured.
“The West should understand What is sauce for the goose is sauce for
the gender as well,” he said.
“Gaddafi was a champion of the oppressed people of the world.
“He was a friend of Sri Lanka, who helped us at our most critical
juncture to eliminate terrorism from this land. He also helped establish
organizations like FAMYS.
“Politicians and Muslim political parties received financial
assistance from him.
“Why are all these people observing a deafening silence now? Can’t
they at least condemn the atrocity committed on Gaddafi and say that
they are against this heinous crime of the NATO powers”, Azwer said.
“When a bull is taken to a police station there are hundreds of
Muslim Organizations issuing letters of protest.
“Is the life of Gaddafi less important than a cattle?”, Azwer
queried.
He requested all Muslims to say a special prayer for the departed
soul of Muammar Gaddafi in their daily prayers and during the Tahajjud
(midnight prayers).
