Following the revision of excise duties on spirits, the price of arrack and a range of liquors have been increased by Rs. 60 while malt liquor (beer) has been increased by Rs. 5 with effect from yesterday, Excise Department announced.

This excise duty will be applicable for all spirits (Ethyl Alcohol) while only export of liquor will be exempted. The Excise Department published the new rates in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 1728/12 dated 19.10.2011.
