Students win top prizes at the ACCA awards ceremony
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) which is the
global body for professional accountants that offer business-relevant,
first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and
ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy,
finance and management, recently held their awards ceremony at the
Cinnamon Grand Colombo ,to recognize and award students who have
excelled in their exams in December 2010 and June 2011.Speaking at the
function the Country Manager for ACCA Sri Lanka, Aruni Rajakarier said
that, “as ACCA members they will get the chance to work in diverse
fields and varied roles”.
She stated that she “expected them to uphold the highest ethical
standards in all their professional activities, which is one of the key
pillars that the ACCA qualification is founded upon”.
She also pointed out that “ Choice ,not chance determines one’s
destiny” and encouraged them “to make use of the many cost effective
options offered by ACCA for further studies that include Global MBAs
MSCs in Finance and accounting membership of other professional bodies
and other world renowned post graduate educational opportunities”.
President of ACCA Nisreen Rehmajee stated that “achieving the ACCA
membership offered one a whole host of career opportunities “ .She went
on to say that “with those opportunities comes responsibilities and that
there is a high expectation on the members to uphold the values such as
equality, opportunity, innovation, integrity and accountability that are
the cornerstone of the ACCA qualification”. The Chief Guest at the
function was, partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sujeewa Mudalige handed
out the awards to the prize winners for the CAT December 2010
examinations.
