Nipuni WIMALAPALA
There is no doubt that Sri Lankans will love to taste Mongolian food.
So to give Mongolian traditions a Sri Lankan touch, the Grand Oriental

There is a choice of rice, noodles or more vegetables and all the
food lovers are warmly welcome to experience the mouthwatering Mongolian
food with the amazing harbour view.
"This will be a different experience for Sri Lankan foodies.
Throughout the past year we have been continuing our Sri Lankan theme
night giving prominence to our traditional dishes and now it is time for
a difference. We will offer Mongolian stir fry dishes with our spices.
Being the General Manager, my effort is to move forward by improving the
standards of the hotel. We always want to give something unique to the
food lovers," Dulip de Alwis said at a press conference held recently.
This November, the Harbour Room will turn into a food lover's
paradise as the Italian food festival gives a kick start with food, wine
and love. Chef Walter Bilotta, the Italian food expert would join from
Verona, Italy to prepare authentic Italian food at the hotel. Pasta,
Pizza, Ravioli and special Italian sea food will be the high delights of
the festival.
"During the Spice Food Festival, every year chefs from different
countries will fly down to give an international food experience. So
this year with that exposure we are gearing up the month of November
with Italian starting from November 1 to the 7," added Alwis.
"In the month of December we are all set for the Harbour Trail 2011,
31 Night Dinner Dance at the Harbour Room with entertainment by Cool
Set", GOH F & B Manager Lalin Adhikari said. |
