National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF), the sole reinsurance body in Sri Lanka sees new business opportunities for the 2018 Commonwealth Games (CWG) if held in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to Daily News Business National Insurance Trust Fund Chairman Senaka D Abeygoonasekera said if Sri Lanka managed to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Hambantota, NITF is ready to provide insurance coverage for all contestants of the game and has already sought Sports Ministry approval to make this effort a success.

In addition, NITF entered into an agreement with the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) in a bid to offer medical insurance for 14,000 IESL members.

IESL, the leading professional body for engineers in Sri Lanka with 14,000 members covering almost all disciplines of engineering has immensely contributed to developing the nation, particularly by way of assisting and sharing know how on the infrastructure development projects.
