‘Transcend’ through photography
Senior Photographer K G Keerthirathna (ANPAS, Hon FNPAS) celebrates
30 years in photography in 2011. He started photography by following one
year Photography Course conducted by National Federation of UNESCO
Associations Sri Lanka in 1981.

He has been involved full-time in photography as a profession for
nearly 25 years. He obtained his three-year Diploma at the National
Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka in 1992, and he was awarded the
Associateship of the NPAS (ANPAS) and Honorary Fellowship (Hon FNPAS)
too. At the moment he is serving as a director of the NPAS.
He has won many awards such as Medals, Prizes and Merit Certificates
in International and Local Photographic competitions, and more than
thirty photographs were accepted in FIAP International Exhibitions
worldwide.
He is the Director - Publications of the National Photographic Art
Society of Sri Lanka and he served as the Director - Exhibitions and
Director - Welfare of the NPAS.
He is the Assistant Secretary of the Kelani Photographic Art Society
too. Also he has contributed in many photographic competitions as a
member of the judging panel.
And, he is organizing his Second solo photographic exhibition
‘Transcend’ from October 14 to 16, 2011 at the J D A Perera Exhibition
Gallery in University of the Visual and Performing Arts (Fine Arts) -
Horton Place, Colombo 7 from 9 am to 7 pm. Opening of the exhibition
will be on October 14 at 10 am.
He organized his first solo photographic exhibition ‘Pilisandara’ in
1998. He further said this exhibition consists of Fifty Colour and
monochrome Photographs created using new digital technology.
