Ella Dola cleaned under Wari Desathiya

A shramadana campaign organised under the Wari Desathiya programme was held recently to clean the canal of Maputugala, Ella Dola at the Ingiriya Agrarian Service zone.

It was initiated by Kalutara district parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka.

About 1.5 kilometres of the canal was cleaned during this campaign. This canal supplies water to over 60 acres of paddy fields.

Farmers say that they can now cultivate both Yala and Maha seasons without problems.
