Iran envoy bids farewell to External Affairs Dy Minister

The Deputy Minister of External Affairs Neomal Perera was given a farewell call by departing Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday at the ministry.

The Ambassador thanked the Sri Lanka government for its close co-operation extended to improve the bilateral relations between the two countries and stated that President Mahinda Rajapaksa's zeal in this regard was much appreciated.

He pledged Tehran's support to increase mutual trade relations between the two countries in the coming years, according to a press release from the office of the Deputy Minister of External Affairs.
