In conformity with its 'Mission', the exhibition will undoubtedly
seek to unleash and elicit multi-faceted disciplines, talents and skills
in the spheres of engineering. It will strive to drive Sri Lanka into
scientific and technological excellence, uplift and enhance the quality
of life of our people and steer our motherland towards prosperity. The
last 25 years has proved beyond doubt, to its target audience that the
exhibition has well maintained the optimum standards demanded, both in
quality and quantity. Its diversified, 'state-of-the-art', informative
and educative stalls exceeding 200, has not only catered for and
delighted the engineering community but has also earned national and
global recognition and the reputation, to be branded as one of the best
of its kind in the SAARC region, if not Asia. Based on its theme
"Engineering Today, Tomorrow and Beyond" and its quest for 'Continuous
Quality Enhancement' and innovation, this 2011 event is bound to attract
an unprecedented number of interested customers to view its stalls and
be enthralled.
Special features such as, the IESL Engineering Pavilion, the Robot
competition organized by the IESL's IT Sectional Committee, the
significantly enhanced version of the highly successful "Engineering
Clinic" introduced last year, in its bid to address the genuine
engineering issues of the general public at large, the
engineering-related "Job Bank" under the auspices of the 'Young Members'
Section', to establish a link for the recruitment of young members to
the related engineering disciplines and the depiction and display of
ongoing and proposed mega infrastructural and other development projects
envisaged by the 'Mahinda Chintanaya Forward Vision' programme,
inclusive of the North and East development, will undoubtedly be a crowd
puller, at the exhibition. The introduction of an additional
"Under-Graduate Category" in the Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY)
Competition, within the Junior Inventors' Area, by the JIY Committee of
the IESL, will be a novel and unique feature this year.
A special zone exhibiting a variety of indigenous and home-grown
products and services, and the highly topical and sought-after
institutions of Tertiary and Higher Education, will also be of much
interest to the public.
A paramount and significant feature of the "Techno 2011", would be
our endeavour to establish more stronger, dynamic and sustainable links
between the suppliers of engineering products and services, and the
relevant government institutions, with a view to facilitating mutual
awareness of their resources and potential, in fulfilling their needs,
objectives and aspirations. |
