CNCI facilitates skills upgrading programmes
For Sri Lankan industry sector :
The Ceylon Nationals Chamber of Industries (CNCI) has been granted
the registration and the recognition by the Tertiary and Vocational
Education Commission (TVEC) as an authorized educational centre for
conducting skills upgrading educational programmes for the industry and
manufacturing sector enterprises.
The specific skills development and knowledge enhancement programmes
nominated and selected are expected to commence soon at the CNCI Chamber
Secretariat.
The pioneering industry chamber in Sri Lanka, CNCI has been playing a
significant role for the last four decades as an educational service
provider to the Sri Lankan industry and manufacturing sectors. Since
lately CNCI has reorganized their educational activities by establishing
a special Human Resource Development and Industrial Relations (HRD and
IR) division at the CNCI Chamber Secretariat, under the guidance of the
Secretary General and CEO to impart extra knowledge and latest
information on theoretical and practical sense for the advancement of
the Executives of the corporate sector enterprises as a catalytic tool
to improve performance and efficiency.
Apart from the well organized English language improvement and
development programmes, specifically designed for the junior and middle
level executives and supporting staff members, CNCI has formulated more
advanced courses and programmes for the industry sectors, specifically
in labour laws and industrial relations sectors.
CNCI Secretary General/ CEO Kumara Kandalama said, "Some of the
specific topics selected for the industry and manufacturing sector
programmes EPF/ ETF and gratuity and the EPF Act, laws related to new
recruitments, employee discipline, employee misconduct, Shops and Office
Act, Wages Board Ordinance, laws, rules and regulations related to
terminations of employment, disciplinary and non- disciplinary
activities etc.
These knowledge upgrading programmes are focused at the senior and
middle managers, senior and middle and Junior executives in the HRD/
Legal/ Administration divisions as well as for the other heads of
departments, senior and middle managers, executives and other
entrepreneurs , who wish to enhance their professional knowledge and to
acquire comprehensive coverage and interpretations on labour laws and
other key components in industrial relations. The programmes are open to
the private and public sectors.
These lecture presentations will be conducted by some of the reputed
experts and consultants of specific fields, who are well qualified with
nearly forty years of practical and hands on experience. During the
Lecture presentations the participants will have the opportunity for
discussions and clarifications of any relevant topics with the
presenters.
