Carlton Sports Club take Asian Finance Trophy

Carlton Sports Club staged a stupendous performance to beat their
arch rivals Havelocks Bambaras 19 points (two goals, one try) to 14 (two
goals) in the final played at Science College grounds, Mt. Lavinia on
September 25.
More than 280 participants from 24 teams representing clubs,
development squads, old boys associations and mercantile sectors locked
horns at the Western Province Inter Club open invitation Rugby 7’s
tournament which was proudly sponsored by Asian Finance Ltd.
Top players from leading clubs took part in this grand 7’s
tournament. The Results: CUP – Carlton SC beat Havelock Bambaras 19
points to 14, PLATE – Jawatte Lions beat Old Kannangara 12 points to 7.
BOWL – Old Moratuwa SC beat Old Wesleyites SC 17 points to 12, SHIELD -
Old Mudalians beat Black Hawk 22 points to 12 while the SAUCER was won
by Kotelawala Defence Academy ‘B’ beat Moratuwa University ‘B’ 19 points
to 05.
