Brandix to sponsor ‘National Safety and Health Conference’ for
fourth year
Top apparel exporter Brandix has reiterated its commitment to
promoting best practices in health and occupational safety, by once
again supporting the `National Safety and Health Conference,’ the apex
national conference in the sphere.

Brandix is supporting the event this year as the main sponsor for the
second consecutive time and the fourth time overall. Themed `Prevention
of occupational diseases and injuries through a safety culture,’ this
high powered conference will be held at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo,
on October 14. It is organised by the National Institute of Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH) together with the Labour Relations and
Manpower Ministry.
The event will consist of a number of technical sessions and is
expected to be attended by over 350 participants from different sectors
of industry. The conference will be inaugurated by the Labour and Labour
Relations Minister, Gamini Lokuge and will be the highlight of the
`National Safety and Health Week’ which will begin on October 10.

of Sri Lankan industry,” she added.

profile,” said the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
Director General Dr. Champika Amarasinghe. ``The commitment and
cooperation of the private sector is essential to improve health and
safety standards in the workplace and Brandix has taken the initiative
in this regard,” Amarasinghe said.
