France looking at Lanka’s construction, energy sectors
Sri Lanka invites top level French business and industry delegations
to the mega export exhibition “Sri Lanka Expo 2012”. Sri Lanka also
welcomes French investors to partner in our economic upswing, Industry
and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said.
The Minister said this when he met French Ambassador Sri Lanka
Christine Robichon and the Maldives and Economic and Commercial
Counsellor Jean Louis yesterday.
“I invite French business and industry delegations to the mega export
exhibition Sri Lanka EXPO 2012, organized by the EDB to be held from
March 28 to 30, 2012 in Colombo,” Minister Bathiudeen told the
Ambassador. “I believe that this will be an important step in
strengthening our bilateral trade relations,” he said.
Among potential Sri Lankan exports to France as identified by the
Department of Commerce are garments (woven and knitted), rubber based
products, wooden toys and games, leather based products (footwear, bags
etc.), gem and jewellery items, tea, ceramic products, essential oils,
spices, coconut fiber based products, and handicraft ornamental items
and packaging items. |
