Strict enforcement of seat belt rule after two weeks
The Police will carry out admonishing motorists
during the initial two weeks of the new seat belt rule before legal
action is taken thereafter, said Police Media Spokesman SSP Maxi

Dompe incident: five police officers remanded
Five police officers arrested by the Criminal
Investigations Department (CID) over the death of a suspect in
police custody at Dompe were remanded till October 14 by Gampaha
Magistrate, said Police Spokesman SSP Maxi Proctor. He said that the
CID had begun questioning the arrested police officers regarding the
incident.
