Over Rs 2,700 m for rural development

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Deputy Minister Susantha
Punchinilame said that the Economic Development Ministry has allocated
Rs.2,700 million on a number of development projects in the Trincomalee
district under the development programme in the Eastern Province.
According to that they have been allocated around Rs.100 million for
development projects in Seruwila, Trincomalee and Muthur Divisional
Secretariats in the Trincomalee district. These allocations are to be
spent on Divi Neguma, Gama Neguma and Samurdhi programmes. According to
the Deputy Minister Muthur Divisional Secretariat will receive Rs.700
million and Seruvila and Trincomalee Divisional Secretariats will
receive Rs. 400 million.
The above funds are to be given to Divisional Secretaries through
District Secretaries. In addition a large amount of money will be spent
for infrastructure facilities development,community development and
other immediate development activities in war affected areas, he added.
