Moragoda meets prelates

UPFA Colombo mayoral candidate Milinda Moragoda handed over his 12 point 100 days programme and policy document to members of the Maha Sangha representing all three Chapters at a ceremony at the Narahenpita Abhyaramaya recently.

UPFA Colombo mayoral candidate hands over a copy of his policy to Ven Ittapane Dhammalankara Anunayaka Thera of Kotte Sri Samagree Sanga Sabawa.

Handing over the policy paper, Moragoda told the Maha Sangha that it was the government's intention to pursue these policies as a constituent party of the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), within the framework of the Mahinda Chintana-Idiridakma.

Moragoda commenting on the policy document said: "Although we are thinking of a post conflict phase, the conflict has not really ended. Ethnic, religious, caste and political conflicts are still looming large within the Sri Lankan society. We have to look at Colombo as a symbol of unity."

Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabawa leader Ven Kotugoda Dammawasa, Ven Ittapane Dhammalankara Anunayaka Thera of the Kotte Sri Samagree Sangha Sabawa, Ven Murutettuwe Ananda Chief Incumbent of Abhayarama Viharaya and Ven Nagoda Amarawansa, director of Sri Lanka College and former Ministers B Sirisena Cooray and R A D Sirisena also participated.
