Scholarship high-fliers meet President

The three students who came first obtaining 195 marks each in the Year Five Scholarship examination called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday evening. The President congratulated the three students and presented gifts to them.

Oshadhi Rashiprabha Fonseka of Kalutara Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Nethmi Vihangi Ranaweera of Miriswatta National College in Dodangoda, Kalutara and Naleem Zaky Ahamed of Kekirawa Muslim Maha Vidyalaya obtained 195 marks each.

President Rajapaksa inquired from the students of their future education plans and ambitions. He also inquired of the needs of those schools from the students and principals.

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Commissioner General of Examinations Anura Edirisinghe, principal of Kalutara Balika Maha Vidyalaya J K Gunaratne, principal of Miriswatta National College, Kalutara S M Chandrika Silva, principal of Kekirawa Muslim Maha Vidyalaya S M S Habdeen, class teachers and students’ parents were present.
