Celeb Chat with Rukshan Perera

Singer, song writer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Rukshan Perera comes into focus on Prime TV’s ‘Celeb Chat’ on Monday, September 19 at 9.00 pm on CSN.

Having lived in the United States for almost three decades, he is now back in Sri Lanka and has been actively involved in many areas in the music field. Apart from singing in a variety of musical styles, this old Royalist is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays the guitar, piano, harmonica and several other instruments.

A well known jazz guitarist cum vocalist, Rukshan has performed at jazz concerts in the States and continues to perform his originals and pop covers. Rukshan also played as a young keyboardist with the ‘Super Golden Chimes’ with Clarence Wijeywardena and Annesley Malawana while still a schoolboy in the 1970s.

Listen to him demonstrate ‘scatting’ and the ‘harmony whistle’. Listen to him sing the ‘Nursery Rhapsody’ (a song composed in the lines of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) and also talk about the Sinhalese Acapellas he has composed. All this and more as multi-talented Rushan Perera unwinds with host Kumar de Silva on ‘Celeb Chat’.

‘Celeb Chat’ is on CSN on UHF 22, Channel 75 on Dialog TV and also on PEO TV. Viewers overseas can catch the LIVE streaming at 16h30 GMT on http://www.primetv.lkwww.primetv.lk
